Sukhumvit is the easiest base, with the Skytrain and most of the international hotels. Silom suits business trips. Near the river you get the views and the classic grand hotels; Khao San remains the budget end.
Who it suits
Good for almost everyone, but especially for travellers who want a high standard of hotel without a European price. Staying near a Skytrain or metro station matters more than the neighbourhood name — Bangkok traffic is the real constraint.
How we report hotel prices in Bangkok
- The price is for the whole stay, not a misleading "from" figure. Taxes the hotel collects on arrival are listed separately and added into the total.
- Every price is labelled: a live supplier rate we measured, or an estimate, and it carries the date it was measured.
- No fake original price, no "only 2 rooms left", no invented urgency.
- There is no hotel booking hand-off on this site. Nothing here sends you off to book a named hotel, and a measured supplier rate is not a price you could be charged.
